About The Artwork

THE PAINTINGS SECTION FROM DAVIS MUSEUM The Davis Lisboa Mini-Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona Davis Lisboa, "Robert Filliou #2", 2015, oil on canvas, 15,74 x 11,81 x 1,57 in (40 x 30 x 4 cm) What/who inspired the work? This work was inspired by the French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou's assemblaje "Autoportrait bien fait, mal fait, pas fait" (Self-portrait well done, badly done, not done), 1973. What do you hope viewers will feel/ think? I hope the viewers note the mystery that I tried to communicate in this piece. In "Robert Filliou # 2", the memory of Cândido Portinari's paintings as "Menino With Tabuleiro" (Boy with Board) is remarkable. On the other hand, the factor this work is an oil painting on canas could be considered a response to Filliou's ideas about the "well done, badly done, not done". I invite you to compare the two works and take out some conclusion. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose the oil painting medium because all these works make part of the "The Paintings Section from Davis Museum". I would like to add something: this work has been carried out very quickly. I've been so lucky to hit the hue of blue, arrangement and rhythm of the strokes without any hesitation. It is very difficult to run a painting at the first strokes, but fortunately it sometimes happens. How will your artwork be packed for a movement? Artwork will be guaranteed to be shipped in accordance with high security standards, so that your shipment is as safe as possible while traveling from the artist's studio to your museum, gallery, hotel, business or home. For this, your oil paintings on canvas will be sent unrolled, stretched out on a wooden frame, flat, without frames and any special assembly. The packaging of wrapped canvases consists of: · An acid-free archival quality glassine paper cover · Two sheets of Foam boards · A sealed heavy plastic bag (to protect against moisture) · Two layers of bubble wrap and secure with tape · Cardboard protectors to each corner of the oil painting · Two other larger sheets of Foam boards · A sturdy cardboard box marked as "Fragile" Davis Museum Paintings Section in Private Collections Alejandro Vásquez Herrero Collection, Viladecans, Spain.
