This portrait is part of a series of twelve charcoals produced between December 2020 ans January 2021, which follows another series entitled "Broken faces", started in 2014 and finally resumed in 2020. Each portrait reflects the absurdity of what is called "the great war" and echoes the great evils of our so called "advanced" civilisations". Each portrait in this series is linked to the others, either chronologically or by graphic processing. The titles are chosen in relation to readings, sometimes books or simply sentences from novels or collections of poems. They of course give a particular meaning to the image.

I was born in 1969, Britanny,to a family of artists. Drawing and painting being my favorite means of expression, I logically became a student at the Fine Art College in Rennes, where I familiarized myself with different technique while studying the History of Arts. After completing my studies in 1996, I "enlisted" as an Art teacher, and I taught in various junior high schools in Normandy before moving to Guadeloupe where I lived for five years. I moved to Saint-Martin, French West Indies, in 2006.
